Feldman’s Headquarters – 152 Hampden Street

Rarely does the opportunity to practice what you preach come along like the one at 152 Hampden Street. Built in 1856, the old brick and beam structure made for an interesting solution to Feldman’s need for a new head office. For the team at Feldman, skilled at applying the methods of smart survey to all their clients’ projects, the Victorian Eclectic-style factory building and warehouse was just the type of project they could shine their collective skills and knowledge on.

Used to supplying 3d laser scanning, BIM, and conventional forms of survey services for others, Feldman wasted no time in putting every aspect of smart survey to work when the decision was made to seek a permanent home for its own staff and equipment.

Smart Survey in Practice

Believing what you tell your clients about smart survey helps, but when the time comes to collect data for your own future headquarters, knowing how to get it right from the ground up becomes part of the lasting showcase of the firm. That’s why Feldman was there every step of the way from due diligence to permitting and throughout the renovation of the former machine shop and piano factory.

Scanning the building inside and out at multiple phases throughout the project meant everything from permitting to design went smoothly and according to the plans. And with that type of security and stability on the project from the start, it’s no wonder that the project was completed in time for the September, 2016 move.

Certainly, the building at 152 Hampden has put a stylish roof over the heads of the team at Feldman. But in return, those same professionals meticulously gathered enough data on the structure to ensure its vitality as a landmark headquarters for years and years to come.

Now imagine what smart survey could do for your next project.

The Street

The second home to Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics players who like to swing a golf club between games, the Granite Links Golf Club at Quarry Hills ranks amongst the best 100 courses in the U.S., as selected by Golf Digest.

But before it could be on par with America’s finest fairways, Granite Links Golf Club first called Feldman Land Surveyors. And, except for the amazing panoramic views, we provided everything from boundary to topographic surveys.

Archstone Quarry Hills

Today, next to the celebrated Granite Links Golf Club, sits Archstone Quarry Hills—a luxury residential community just minutes off Interstate 93. Yet the original Quincy, MA development site was densely wooded and fraught with challenging topography.

Feldman was first called upon to supply the initial ALTA survey and existing conditions mapping. Later, it was our pleasure to perform field surveys to locate wetland flags, construction layout and final as-builts for the entire multi-family development project.

Olmsted Green

On the site of the now defunct Boston State Hospital is located one of the biggest development projects undertaken within the city’s limits in over 50 years.

Upon its completion, Olmsted Green will be a vibrant urban community comprised of town homes, apartments, senior housing and even an assisted living facility. Our work on the project began by providing an existing conditions survey and boundary survey for the former site of the hospital.

Today, Feldman continues to work with New Boston Development Partners, Mass Audubon, Hearth and Lena Park in the ongoing development and improvement of Boston’s newest residential neighborhood. From subdivision plans to condominium plans and from ALTA surveys to construction layout, we’re pleased to supply them all.

Marina Bay

Just seven miles to the south of downtown Boston, on the site of the former Squantum Naval Air Station, sits Marina Bay—an amazing mixed-use development complete with full-service marina, luxury condominiums, restaurants and a variety of commercial spaces.

From its inception, Marina Bay has called upon Feldman Land Surveyors to be involved with every building project completed to date. And since this flagship development still has room to grow, we’ve most recently been working on land court subdivisions, ALTA surveys and existing conditions surveys for the present day developers.
