Congress Square

Described aptly as a building within a building, the development of Congress Square is the type of highly complex project where Feldman’s smart survey methods literally shine through on every level. In a move that will transform both a building and a neighborhood, Congress Square reinvents five iconic interconnected buildings with a bold new vision that sparks intellect and creativity: seven stories of glass curtain wall are being added above a totally redeveloped existing structure to allow the creation of residential spaces where there are currently few, but the demand is already high.

To ensure that 14 super-columns fit through the existing building and support the seven stories of curtain wall being added above it, Feldman has been involved in the entire life cycle of the project from gathering data for permitting to 3D laser scanning, BIM, and supplying construction engineering control.

Ferdinand Building

A long-time priority of outgoing Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the revitalization of Dudley Square features the complete redevelopment of the historic Ferdinand Building—a centerpiece of urban improvement and future home of the Boston School Department’s headquarters.

Feldman worked with Sasaki Associates, Inc. and the City of Boston on the ALTA and topographic/utility surveys. We also carried out 3D laser scanning and revit modeling of the existing 5-story Ferdinand building.

Shawmut Design and Construction then asked our firm to provide construction survey services to assist in keeping the entire project on track.

The Street

The second home to Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics players who like to swing a golf club between games, the Granite Links Golf Club at Quarry Hills ranks amongst the best 100 courses in the U.S., as selected by Golf Digest.

But before it could be on par with America’s finest fairways, Granite Links Golf Club first called Feldman Land Surveyors. And, except for the amazing panoramic views, we provided everything from boundary to topographic surveys.

Archstone Quarry Hills

Today, next to the celebrated Granite Links Golf Club, sits Archstone Quarry Hills—a luxury residential community just minutes off Interstate 93. Yet the original Quincy, MA development site was densely wooded and fraught with challenging topography.

Feldman was first called upon to supply the initial ALTA survey and existing conditions mapping. Later, it was our pleasure to perform field surveys to locate wetland flags, construction layout and final as-builts for the entire multi-family development project.

Olmsted Green

On the site of the now defunct Boston State Hospital is located one of the biggest development projects undertaken within the city’s limits in over 50 years.

Upon its completion, Olmsted Green will be a vibrant urban community comprised of town homes, apartments, senior housing and even an assisted living facility. Our work on the project began by providing an existing conditions survey and boundary survey for the former site of the hospital.

Today, Feldman continues to work with New Boston Development Partners, Mass Audubon, Hearth and Lena Park in the ongoing development and improvement of Boston’s newest residential neighborhood. From subdivision plans to condominium plans and from ALTA surveys to construction layout, we’re pleased to supply them all.
